RC3 – Rev Counter and Diagnostic Scan Tool

RC3 (Revolution Counter 3) is an innovative device from TEXA that combines a rev counter and a diagnostic scan tool in one compact unit. It continuously monitors engine RPM and engine temperature while also working as a car scanner and engine scanner, allowing mechanics to perform multiple tests using a single tool.

Multiple Methods for Accurate Engine Data Reading

RC3 can read engine data in three different ways, ensuring flexibility across various vehicle types:

• Using an induction clamp with piezoelectric sensors
• Using a microphone that detects the residual battery signal
• Directly through the OBD socket, on vehicles that support the required protocol

When connected to the OBD port, RC3 reads engine RPM and temperature using the EOBD protocol, eliminating the need to open the bonnet. This makes it especially convenient for fast diagnostics using a multi brand scanner or multi brand diagnostic scanner.

Scan Tool Mode for Emission-Related Diagnostics

In scan-tool mode, RC3 connects to the EOBD socket and reads parameters defined by emission control standards. This allows technicians to perform checks required by newer emission regulations using a single automotive diagnostic software solution.

RC3 can also support workshops handling mixed vehicle types, working alongside a bike diagnostic tool and other professional diagnostic systems.
